Chicago firefighters were busy battling a 2-11 fire in a vacant restaurant on the city's North side Thanksgiving morning.
The fire was reported around 6 a.m. at North Sheridan and Balmoral in the Edgewater neighborhood.
The building is a two-story mansion that was converted into a restaurant and is now vacant, awaiting demolition, CBS Chicago reported. The structure was built in 1913.
Firefighters reported a deep-seated fire and worked to open up the structure as they used a defensive attack.
Crews used six master streams, a Snorkel and a tower ladder to contain the fire in two hours, according to the department's updates on X.
